Booking terms, in plain language
The deal between you and us, written the way we'd want to read it. The legal entity behind "we" is Santorini Boat Tours, Vlychada Marina, Thira 847 00, Santorini, Greece.
1. Booking & payment
A booking exists once we confirm your request in writing (email or WhatsApp). Seats are held without prepayment unless we agree otherwise for large groups or private charters; payment is settled on board by cash or card, or in advance by payment link. Prices are per person in EUR (per boat for charters) and include VAT.
2. Cancellation by you
Cancel up to 24 hours before departure: free, no questions. Within 24 hours or no-show: the full price is chargeable, because your seats sailed empty on a boat we capped at 15. Private charters: free cancellation up to 7 days before; 50% within 7 days; full within 48 hours.
3. Cancellation by weather (or us)
If the Santorini port authority suspends sailings, or our skipper judges conditions unsafe, the cruise is cancelled and you choose: full refund or free rebooking to any date with space. We notify you as soon as the decision is made. We may substitute an equivalent vessel or adjust the route/stops when sea conditions require — the three-swim character of the day is always preserved where safely possible.
4. Punctuality
Pickup windows are confirmed the evening before. The boat waits as long as it can for a late transfer we caused, and not at all for a missed pickup at an agreed point and time — the other fourteen guests own the schedule too. Miss the boat and clause 2 applies.
5. Safety & conduct
- The skipper's word is final on all matters of safety, route and swimming windows.
- Life vests are provided and mandatory for children and non-swimmers in open water; swim stops may be shortened or skipped in poor conditions.
- Guests visibly intoxicated at boarding, or endangering others aboard, can be refused carriage without refund. The freely poured bar is a hospitality, not a challenge.
- Tell us about pregnancies, heart conditions, recent surgeries or reduced mobility when booking so we can advise honestly (see the FAQ).
6. Children
Children sail under their guardians' supervision at all times. Kids' life vests are aboard; under-12 rates apply; infants sail free on a lap.
7. Your belongings
The sea takes a small tax of sunglasses and phones every season. We provide dry storage and a floating-case warning, but items you bring are your responsibility except where Greek law says otherwise.
8. Our liability
We operate a licensed (MH.T.E.-registered), surveyed and insured vessel with certified crew, and we're liable as Greek and EU passenger-carriage law provides. We are not liable for consequential losses from weather cancellations — missed dinner reservations, rearranged proposals, the works — which is exactly why clause 3 offers the full refund.
9. Photos
The crew shares the day's photos with guests. If we'd like to use a photo that includes you on this site or our social channels, we ask you first — a verbal yes on board is enough, and a later "actually, please remove it" to info@santoriniboattours.com is always honoured.
10. Complaints & law
Something wrong? Say it on board so we can fix it on board; otherwise email us within 14 days and we'll answer within 14 more. These terms are governed by Greek law; EU consumers keep all mandatory protections of their home country, and disputes go to the courts of Thira, Greece, or the EU ODR platform.
